Bakersfield College (BC), Porterville College (PC) and Cerro Coso Community College (CCCC) 2014 Annual Campus Security and Fire Safety Report

The BC, PC, and CCCC Annual Campus Security and Fire Safety Report is published each year to provide crime and fire statistics and information on safety and security related services offered by the college, in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. This report has been modified to include the new requirements imposed by the Violence Against Womens Reauthorization Act – Campus Sexual Violence Act (SaVe Act) provision, section 304.

The linked report is prepared with data and information provided by the BC Department of Public Safety (BCDPS), the Office of the Director of Student Life, campus security authorities and various law enforcement agencies that provide services to BC properties within their jurisdictions. The report summarizes college and campus safety and security programs and contains policies and procedures designed to enhance personal safety at Bakersfield College.

Title IX and Sex Discrimination

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 protects people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities which receive Federal financial assistance.  Title IX states that:

No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
